.:: Double booking crap

2nd trial run for the water games today.
The weather wasn't looking too good when I was making my way to the CCAB pool and when I got there with Dorothy [bumped into her at the entrance], there was only Calvin sleeping on the steps.

He was complaining about the impending rain; how everyone was late and how early he woke up this morning just to arrive and find himself first at the pool [and he was already late by the way].

There were other people there too, some heavily madeup females in similar attires and 2 guys mebbe.
And then the 3 of us realised that hey, those people are from Channel 8.
Isn't that Jeanette Aw sitting there?
And eventhough I did not recognise the rest of the girls, I did find this girl familiar but I do not remember her name; some new comer.
And after awhile, Fiona Xie showed up.
And I'm not sure if I made a mistake but I thought Rachael Lee [Eye for a guy] showed up too?
And the rest of the SWEAT camp people showed up; actually just Elaine, BQ and Cindy and we started bitchin about the Mediacorp girls.

They were saying Fiona Xie "zhen ren bi dian shi shang bu hao kan"
and we realised while Fiona Xie and the rest of the girls were chatting happily, doodling on paper and looking through their scripts, Jeanette Aw was quietly sitting in a corner with a guy [her nanny perhaps?] and staring at the rain and pool [it rained shortly after].
Dorothy was saying she had been observing Jeanette Aw and thinks that she looked like a dummy.

Not stupid dummy but mannequin dummy.
Cos she sat there quietly for a really long time and not moving a muscle.
But of course, we all know she's real and alive cos she blinked once in awhile.
And I think most of them agreed that she looks prettier in person.

Anyway if you guys really pay attention to entertainment news, you would have guessed by now that they were there to film the swimming drama. Whatever the name is.

Anyway, all these aren't the point.

The thing is, well, how can Mediacorp and us use the pool at the same time?
We were there at the same timing.
So Dorothy checked with the lifeguard and realised there was this double booking crap.
SMU and Mediacorp booked the pool for the same timings.
Seems like SMU and Mediacorp booked the pool through 2 different parties and neither side bothered to check the availability.
Oh wow.

So in the end, it was decided that the pool should come to us haha [not that we negotiated with CH8].
It was raining heavily and both parties couldn't do anything but at least we could use the pool when the rain subsided a little. Filming couldn't go on in the rain and apparently their whole schedule must have been disrupted by the rain cos they left when it stopped.

Calvin was pretty disappointed.
I guess he wanted to see the girls in swimming costumes.

Lying is not only saying what isn't true. It is also, in fact especially, saying more than is true and, in the case of the human heart, saying more than one feels. We all do it, every day, to make life simpler.

I lurrrrve the new JE library!

What large collection of books they have!
Of cos, it's a regional library now, silly.

Anyway I went to Sembawang library and to my acute disappointment, I couldn't find the books I was looking for ie Dubliners and Metamorphosis...BUT I did saw Ulysses sitting on the shelves and it was...2 inches thick maybe?

Damn.

I realised I don't particularly enjoy Joyce's books...alrite...book...cos I only read 1/3 of it.
Kinda tempted to dump Portrait of the Artist into the bookdrop! Haha~
So maybe I should not attempt reading Ulysses after all...!

I did not manage to find Dubliners and Metamorphosis at the JE library; I swore they were there a few weeks ago!
But I found other books I want =D

- The Castle by Kafka
- Great Wall of China & Other Short Works by Kafka
- Steppenwolf by Hesse

Elated.
Gonna have dry eyes from reading them.

This entry is about how SAS is making me dislike school.

But I'm going to bed now..shall edit this entry when I feel like it.

I like simple blog layouts =) 

Have gotten a little sick of the old girlosophy layout eventhough I have not been going to the site much.

Anyway, this layout has been with me for a really long time.
The reason why I did not change it sooner was that I could not find a nice photo to put in the middle.....and then I stumbled across this picture of Ta Phrom =)

I can't seem to blog anymore.

I think I'd rather tell someone about what has been going on in my life rather than write about it.

If I were to type my every single day here, what would I have left to say to my friends?

Things to do tomorrow [in chronological order]-
 
Swim
Went jogging at WCP just now and I realised I can't stand running anymore.
The pool opens at 8:00am and I shall aim to be there at about this timing; I have to anyway coz I have to be in school at 11:00am.
The later I start swimming, the less time I have for it!
 
Go school
School is seriously putting me off man.
Hmm...I think it's the position of FC that is getting on my nerves.
I am terribly wanted, especially during the hols.
And I hate that.
I want some peace and quiet.
I yearn for a getaway.
Or better still, let me step down soon!
 
Meet Kuazzie
That is, if she is not too sick tomorrow.
She came back from HK at 12 mindnight, went M'sia the next day with her parents and went Wild Wild Wet soon after that.
Little wonder why she felt quite ill.
Not enough rest.
And she hasn't replied to my SMS yet regarding tomorrow's meet up.

Yup, I'm quite happy working at the clinic actually =)
Eventhough the pay is kinda peanuts...
 

.:: One reason or another.
 
Either the desserts at Bakers Inn has been overrated, or that I was really stuffed or mebbe it's because I did not order their signature cake(s)- I ate their Chocolate Souffle with Thyme Ice-cream.
 
Anyway the souffle was pretty normal and ok.
A tad too sweet for me.
The Thyme ice-cream has a kinda interesting flavour though.
 
Anyway Little Princess ate their Warm Chocolate Cake and she was absolutely in heaven.
 


Chocolate cake with chocolate sauce in the middle, topped with vanilla ice-cream...
And nicely decorated with really sour berries and stawberries and sweet strawberry sauce.
 
Oh and a $9.50 price tag attached to it.

In case you guys are wondering, Became is the name of a decongestant pill.
Take 1 tablet 3 times a day.
It helps relieves a stuffed nose.
 
Barney is a dinosaur and he lives in our imagination -sings-
 
What was that?
I remember this slogan from the Perfect10 ad- Better to have a song stuck in your head.
And it showed a fella wandering round with an axe jammed into his brains.
 
I say, gimme the axe anytime.
 
The children called it Barney too.
That was the reply my doc gave me when I told him I named his purple dino torch Barney.
I think, the song made me do it, made me name the dino Barney.
Yeah everything purple is Barney man.
 
Is a brinjal Barney?
Yes.
How about a bunch of purple grapes?
Absolutely.
 
FeiTan told me a story once:
A group of kids were watching Little Red Riding Hood the play and at the end when the Big Bad Wolf died, all of them cried cos the wolf was purple and they thought it was Barney who had kicked the bucket.
 
Awwwwww.
 
Which proves to show (once again) that everything and anything purple can be labelled Barney.
You can dress yourself in purple and the kids will scream BARNEY BARNEY! at you.
But it has to be the exact same shade of purple, if not 'em little tykes won't acknowledge ya...
 
and the Barney theme song lives on.
